ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION FOR DANISH BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHERS
The board behind the Association of Danish Birth Photographers consists of three photographers from Copenhagen. Nanna Lysholt Hansen, Nataly Dauer, and Hannah Lyons.
We are as passionate about birth photography as our members are. Helping parents capture one of life’s greatest moments, namely when their little one comes into the world, is one of the most beautiful and finest moments you, as a photographer, can be a part of.
Birth photography is not yet very widespread in Denmark, which is the case in many other countries. Together we work to demystify the subject and spread awareness of and the possibility of birth photography here in Denmark.
The Association for Danish Birth Photographers was founded in June 2019. Due to Corona, the association has been quiet until spring 2021, but we are coming back strongly and are ready to continue our work.

“I am originally from Moscow, Russia and moved to Copenhagen in 2012. I started my photography career in 2008 with a studio and classical portrait photography. A few years later I specialized in storytelling for families & births. The first birth story I captured was in Copenhagen in December 2013. It was amazing and I haven’t stopped ever since. Birth is so powerful.”

“Hannah is a Birth Photographer, Doula, Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and Mother of 2. To Hannah, becoming a mother was the most transformative chapter of her life, propelling her into this new career after 10 years as an Interior Designer. Hannah has a deep passion to support and nurture women in their own transformation and self-empowerment through this journey. She found Birth Photography when one of her first clients, a photographer herself, wanted Hannah to capture her during her birth.”

TOGETHER WE WORK TO:
Increase awareness of this fantastic opportunity that birth photography is, as it is not as widespread in Denmark yet, as it is in the USA, UK and several other countries.
Create peace of mind by offering clients a list of reputable birth photographers in their area.
Create a network for serious and professional birth photographers, with opportunities for sparring and collaboration, e.g. in relation to helping each other so back-up photographers.
